Our Editorial Mission
The Trusted Record exists to bring reliable, once out of reach information into the hands of everyday people.
We believe clarity empowers readers. We believe contributors deserve respect. And we believe good information should stand on its own without hype, fear, or distortion.
Contributor Independence
We work with independent contributors, researchers, and subject matter experts.
- Contributors maintain editorial independence
- Opinions expressed belong to the individual author
- Publication does not imply endorsement of every viewpoint by The Trusted Record or SingleStack Studios, LLC
We value diverse perspectives and thoughtful disagreement when presented in good faith.
Accuracy and Research
We expect contributors to:
- Make reasonable efforts to verify factual claims
- Clearly distinguish facts from opinions or interpretation
- Use credible sources when appropriate
- Avoid knowingly misleading or false information
That said, knowledge evolves. Some content may reflect the best available understanding at the time of publication and may become outdated.
Editorial Review Process
Before publication, content may be reviewed for:
- Clarity and readability
- Obvious factual errors
- Alignment with our editorial mission
- Tone and accessibility for a general audience
We do not edit content to change the contributor’s core message or viewpoint, only to improve clarity, structure, or accuracy where needed.
Corrections and Updates
When errors are identified:
- We aim to correct them promptly
- Updates or clarifications may be added to existing content
- Substantive corrections will be made transparently
Readers are encouraged to contact us if they believe something requires correction.
Attribution and Sources
We respect intellectual honesty.
- Sources should be credited when referenced
- Quotes and excerpts must be attributed accurately
- Plagiarism is not tolerated
Conflicts of Interest
Contributors are expected to disclose:
- Financial relationships
- Professional affiliations
- Personal interests that could reasonably influence their work
When relevant, disclosures may be included within the content itself.
Harassment and Contributor Protection
The Trusted Record does not tolerate harassment, abuse, or bad faith attacks directed at contributors.
We reserve the right to:
- Remove comments or interactions that target contributors unfairly
- Restrict access for users who engage in harassment or misrepresentation
- Defend contributors against false or malicious claims related to their published work
Good faith critique is welcome. Harassment is not.
Sponsored or Affiliate Content
If content is sponsored, paid, or includes affiliate relationships:
- It will be clearly disclosed
- Editorial integrity remains a priority
- Sponsored content will never be disguised as independent reporting
Reader Trust
Our responsibility is to readers first.
- We do not publish content designed to mislead, manipulate, or inflame
- We prioritize usefulness over virality
- We favor clarity over certainty when topics are complex
